Cheap Tickets consistently leads its online travel agency competitors with the highest overall customer rating, according to BizRate.com, an independent monitoring company that surveys customers of e-commerce sites in numerous industries.
Cheap Tickets` current overall BizRate rating is 9.0, on a scale of 1-10, as rated by at least 25,000 customers. Only three other travel agencies are rated by at least as many customers, Expedia (overall rating of 8.8), Travelocity (overall rating of 8.8) and Hotwire (overall rating of 8.8). The customer survey sample is significantly smaller for Priceline (at least 100) and Lowestfare (at least 100). Cheap Tickets, Expedia and Travelocity have been continuously certified by BizRate since 1999. New 2001 competitor, Orbitz, is not yet rated by BizRate.com.
Cheap Tickets also leads Travelocity and Expedia in eight of ten rated attributes, including customer support (9.0), travel prices offered (8.9), travel planning information (8.8), confirmation accuracy (9.5), security (9.2), on-time delivery (9.4) privacy policies (9.2) and ease of making reservations (8.9).
In October, the number of unique visitors to Cheap Tickets` Web site was 2.7 million, according to Jupiter Media Metrix, a 139 percent increase over October 2000, and a 63 percent increase from September, which was the most significant month-over-month growth among sector competitors.
