Galileo Appoints Former Orbitz VP.

Cendant-subsidiary, Galileo International has appointed Robert Wiseman as vice president, technology, strategy and architecture.
In his new position, Robert is responsible for developing strategic technology initiatives that position Galileo as the foremost GDS in the travel industry. He will report directly to Mickey Lutz, Galileo`s CIO.


“With more than 23 years of experience in IT and 15 of those years in the travel industry, we`re very pleased to be adding Robert to our team,” said Lutz. “His fresh insight and diverse background will be used to leverage our strengths to forge new partnerships and enter new arenas.”


Prior to joining Galileo, Wiseman was senior vice president at Orbitz, where he was responsible for Direct Connect, the Host Access Network and airline Web site hosting. Previously, he served as CTO at FairAir.com, based in San Francisco. For six years prior, Wiseman was with Delta Technology directing Delta.com and Delta`s Common Booking Engine. From 1989 to 1998 he provided IT consulting services to a variety of companies including three of the four GDSs—Galileo, Sabre, and Amadeus—along with Visa and American Express.
