The European Commission has given a qualified go ahead to Opodo, the online site created by Air France, Aer Lingus, Alitalia, Austrian Airlines, BA, Lufthansa, Finnair, Iberia and KLM.

The EC said that it appears that Opodo would not gain a dominant market position detrimental to competitors. The regulator said on Tuesday that as long as no third party raised objections within a month, the joint venture would receive its blessing.
