Villager joins global distribution systems and offers special incentive for travel agents

Starting January 1, 1999, agents booking reservations for Villager properties during the months of January and February, for the months of January and February, will receive a 15% commission.

Villager Franchise Systems, Inc. joined the automated processing systems known as Global Distribution Systems (GDS), used by travel agents to book airlines, hotels, rental cars, etc., in early October.

‘‘According to industry statistics, approximately 99% of US and Canadian agents utilize at least one of the GDS,’’ said Bob Greeson, Villager’s Director of Marketing. ‘‘With this new system, millions of travel agents worldwide will have GDS access to our Villager properties.’’

‘‘The importance of these systems only increases as more travel agents rely on information in the GDS to book hotel reservations,’’ said Greeson. ‘‘We are taking steps to ensure that Villager is available on the more than 600,000 GDS terminals worldwide.’’

‘‘This is a substantial investment from Villager,’’ said brand president and CEO Ken Rodgers, ‘‘as it provides franchisees the opportunity to expose their property to this important travel supplier, both nationally and internationally. We expect these new and exciting reservation delivery systems to produce increased revenue for the chain and look forward to much success for our brand.’’
