Online Agency Shares Recover.

Following the initial reaction to Continental Airlines’ decision to eliminate commission payments to agencies, shares in Travelocity and Expedia recovered yesterday.
Following the initial reaction to Continental Airlines’ decision to eliminate commission payments to agencies, shares in Travelocity and Expedia recovered yesterday.


Expedia ended trading at $28.61 a share with analyst Arthur Newman of ABN Amro maintaining the stocks as ‘add’. Travelocity was reiterated as ‘buy’ by Bear, Stearns and Co., shares ending at $14.33.


It has been reported that Expedia has made arrangements with Continental, an Expedia spokesperson saying, “There is no material change in what we are being paid by Continental”. No comment from the airline.
