Agents consortium to promote X-TANT selling system to members. Leading independent agents consortium Midconsort has selected X-TANT`s Traveleye as its preferred selling system.

The decision, reached after testing of competitor products, will see Midconsort`s head-office promote Traveleye to its 200 members. Although member agencies are autonomous, the association is encouraging uptake as part of its ambitious strategy of increasing productivity through technology.

According to Midconsort, Traveleye was the only system capable of both enhancing agents` ability to sell and improving their service offering.

In coming to its decision the consortium chose to highlight Traveleye`s tour operator search facility, which reduces search times significantly, and the system`s e-marketing functionality , which allows agents to market to customers by email.

Another key factor behind the decision was Traveleye`s compatibility with voice recognition products developed by X-TANT`s parent NTL, the complete communications company. NTL`s portfolio also enables customers to harness new distribution channels, including digital TV, together with a comprehensive range of data services.

Said Midconsort`s managing director Charles Eftichiou: “Technology will form the cornerstone of members` continued growth, and we believe Traveleye is one of the best examples of agency technology. Our tests proved it not only boosts productivity, but it also enhances customer service. We expect uptake to be strong - our members know when they`re on to a winner.”

To encourage members to use Traveleye, Midconsort is to run a series of educationals in partnership with X-TANT, giving agents the chance to experience the system at first-hand. In addition, the consortium will showcase Traveleye at its new Birmingham-based training academy for members and industry newcomers.

Commented X-TANT`s strategic marketing director Kerry Wilce: “Midconsort`s selection criteria were stringent so we are delighted Traveleye passed the test. Agents signing up to the system can look forward to producing more sales, more quickly, while X-TANT can look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with one this country`s most impressive consortia.”

Since Traveleye`s launch in June 2000, over 4000 users have signed up to X-TANT`s integrated selling system, which has revolutionised the way holidays are sold by delivering agents reservations, information and management functionality all with the click of a mouse. Traveleye customers include agents` consortium Worldchoice, Wallace Arnold, West Midlands Co-op and Ross and Brown.
