Traffic on the Orbitz site is now exceeding pre-11th September levels as major U.S. airlines announced widespread fare reductions, demonstrating the deep fare reductions are encouraging people to fly again.
“Traffic on Orbitz indicates that consumers are ready to fly, and these lower fares are providing the incentive to buy now,” said Jeff Katz, CEO of Orbitz. “We`re seeing widespread discounting on fares aimed at leisure travelers, especially on the Internet where the reductions are largest.”
People booking at Orbitz can also get up to an additional 10% discount on several airlines, including American, Continental, Delta, Northwest, United and US Airways. American, United, and US Air have also extended the online booking discount to international fares.
In addition, from 5th October through 11th October, Orbitz is making a donation on behalf of anyone who buys an airline tickets to the American Red Cross to help provide disaster relief where it`s needed most. Orbitz is donating one dollar in free travel on behalf of every customer who books an itinerary on the site.
