Yesterday Amazon.com Inc. announced the opening of a travel store featuring flight, hotel, car rental and cruise information. The content would be provided by Expedia Inc.
THE SEATTLE-BASED FIRM also said the agreement between both companies will expand later this year to Amazon`s United Kingdom operations. Amazon`s travel store offers discounted deals.

To keep up with current concerns about air transportation, triggered after the Sept. 11 attacks on New York and Washington, Amazon`s store will use Expedia`s services to provide travellers with up-to-the-minute airport and airline updates, information on check-in procedures, and flight status, among others.
