New Business Development Appointment At Datalex

Datalex has appointed Gill Hazel to rthe position of director of business development
Based at Datalex`s Manchester (United Kingdom) office, Hazel will be responsible for enhancing and developing new strategic business relationships for Datalex. Hazel joins Datalex from Sydney, Australia where she was Principal Consultant at strategy, a firm that provides services to businesses focused on Electronic Travel Distribution (ETD). She has many years` experience in developing electronic distribution business models for the travel industry and has worked extensively across each of the primary channels, including retail, corporate and consumer.


“As a global company with a diverse customer and partner base, Datalex is delighted to have someone of Gill`s caliber join our team,” said Neil Beck, Datalex COO. “Her experience and business relationships in the industry will prove to be a great catalyst to our global partner and customer initiatives as well as to our sales force.” Hazel has 17 years experience within the travel industry, principally in technology and distribution. Before joining, Hazel was part of the executive management group of the Priceline-backed Internet company, Myprice, with departmental responsibility for the travel business unit. In addition, her vast experience enabled her to provide a strategic focus and commercial development to her role at Fox Interactive Media Group, where amongst other projects she had responsibility for the development of the company` s Lastminute.Net initiative.


Prior to joining Fox, she spent over seven years at Sabre`s Pacific Sydney headquarters, formerly Fantasia Information Network. In her last position there, as Business Development Manager, she anticipated the changing trends in travel distribution and re-positioned the company for its future role in these channels, both here and abroad.
