Worldspan Rolls Out Enhanced My Trip And MOREsm Site Powered By Qpax

New enhancements allow travellers to receive complete Worldspan-booked itinerary via email, along with destination information and booking options.
Worldspan today announced key enhancements to My Trip and More. This global online itinerary product now allows Worldspan travel agencies to automatically send up-to-the-minute itinerary, destination and personal interest information to individual travellers via email before and during a trip. The enhanced system, featuring exclusive ‘push technology’ developed for Worldspan by QPAX, Inc., also allows travellers to link instantly to their agency’s branded My Trip and More Web page for anytime, anywhere access to real-time trip information. First launched in July 2000, My Trip and More offers travellers anywhere in the world easy, fast, 24/7 Internet access to travel plans, including real-time information on air, car, hotel and rail reservations booked through Worldspan, plus segments booked with Worldspan on the WebSM suppliers. With My Trip and More, travellers can even review or email their itineraries using a personal digital assistant (PDA) or any Internet-ready mobile telephone.
In addition, e-commerce suppliers can integrate a link to My Trip and More into their travel sites, giving their customers this same high level of convenient access to itineraries. Newly added QPAX technology encapsulates trip information based on traveller preferences, destination and travel dates, then delivers the data via the Internet, saving the traveller time and effort searching the Web for information.
The enhanced My Trip and More Web site offers a complete range of destination-based information and booking options, with links for ground transportation services, dining, golf tee times, tours, weather, city guides and more. Travel booked online by the client is credited to the agency for applicable commissions.
My Trip and More itineraries are also now available in seven languages: Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.
“Today’s sophisticated traveller relies increasingly on Internet technology for timely, reliable and useful travel information. Our powerful new edition of My Trip and More allows both traditional and cyber travel agencies to offer their clients the cutting-edge information technology and higher level of service they demand,” commented Helen Porter, vice president - Worldwide Product for Worldspan. “We appreciate the crucial role QPAX played in preparing this superbly enhanced product.”
“We are pleased to be able to assist Worldspan in strengthening the My Trip and More site, and providing each travel agency with their own branded customer interface,” said Andrew McCrea, president and chief executive officer for QPAX, Inc. “Travellers will automatically receive their individual trip details, sent by their travel agent, as soon as a reservation is made, without having to surf the Web. Our technology is the vehicle that facilitates the aggregation and auto-delivery of this information in one place.”
When a booking in Worldspan is completed, My Trip and More automatically generates an email to the traveller, advising that an updated itinerary is available at the secure My Trip and More site. Emails can be customised with the travel agency name and logo, and can include information on current specials and promotions.
Within the email advisory, the traveller is provided a link to the My Trip and More site. By clicking on the link, the traveller is transported from the email to the online trip itinerary. This private email link can be used again and again throughout the trip, even if changes to the original itinerary are made. Because all segment information is imported and integrated from Worldspan, the itinerary is automatically kept up to date.
QPAX is developing unique “Push” technology solution for travel service suppliers to deliver personalised one-to-one communication to their customers, based on the date, time, and circumstance of their itinerary. The QPAX “Push” model broadens the reach of travel vendors in offering a wider variety of options to their clients. The platform will deliver these communications through multiple channels: cell phone, Web enabled devices, PDA, email and traditional telephones. Travellers with access to the QPAX products will be able to adjust their travel plans quickly and efficiently to any circumstance. The QPAX products are extremely traveller-centric, while offering travel vendors a valuable advantage in accurately servicing and communicating with each of their customers—the ultimate in Client Relationship Management capabilities. The company maintains offices in New York City, Boulder, Colorado and Brisbane, Australia.
