Cosmopolitan Magazine to Open New Lifestyle Venue

Cosmopolitan Spirit, the first Cosmopolitan magazine lifestyle venues are soon to hit the
high-street across the UK.
Leading womenå‘s lifestyle magazine Cosmopolitan has united with Branded Leisure Plc to create Cosmopolitan Spirit.

Cosmopolitan Spirit is a unique concept from the world’s most powerful women’s magazine brand.  Located under one roof, this split level café and beauty bar is set to make a major impact on the high street. As a stress-free environment to relax from hectic modern day life, Cosmopolitan Spirit is a venture into more sophisticated brand extension. It aims to bring together six elements of the high street leisure experience in one location:

* Health and Beauty Spa

* Licensed Bar

* Takeaway

* Restaurant

* Coffee Bar

* Juice Bar

The first Cosmopolitan Spirit will open in Brown Street, Manchester in October 2002, followed shortly by Queen Street, Cardiff.  Dates for other sites around the UK are also being confirmed for the next stages of this unique and exciting brand extension.
The Brown Street venue in Manchester city centre will be housed within a dramatic glass-fronted building (10,000 square feet).  Visible from the outside will be the bar, takeaway, coffee bar and juice-bars. The restaurant and beauty facilities will be on the lower floors, offering visitors more privacy for enjoying express treatments such as manicures, pedicures and facials as well as exclusive Ella Bache and NUXE treatments - all of which are available on a drop-in and appointment basis.
Jan Adcock, Group Publishing Director of the Cosmopolitan Group said, “Cosmopolitan Spirit brings the core values of our brand to life - fun, glamour and the inspiration to live life to the full and be the best you can be.  This venture offers a one-stop shop - a true Cosmopolitan experience; thanks to the strong combination of our premium brand and our retail specialist partners, Branded Leisure, the high street will be able to offer an environment that appeals to everyone.”
