The CNN Airport Network, whose broadcasts are seen in many waiting areas at airport gates, will now carry information about airport delays.
The information will be broadcast as a ticker at the bottom of the screen, the way CNN Headline News reports sports scores and stock prices. The data will come from the Federal Aviation Administration`s Air Traffic Control System Command Center. It will tell passengers that there are delays at a particular airport due to weather or any other problem, but won`t give data about specific flights. Passengers can then call the airlines and ask about their flights.
