Expedia subsidiary Travelscape.com reached landmark status with the signing of its 20,000th affiliate this month, marking an industry milestone as Travelscape becomes the first online travel wholesaler to announce reaching 20,000 affiliates, an increase of 100% since April 2000.
The affiliate programme can yield significant income for its members as well as revenue for Travelscape. The programme enables affiliates to link their visitors to Travelscape`s Web site to purchase travel. Once a trip is booked, Travelscape processes the reservations and handles all billing, shipping and customer service fulfillment. After travel has commenced, affiliates receive a commission for the purchase.
