JAL Expands Code Share Agreement with Air France

Japan Airlines (JAL) will expand its code share network with Air France (AF) that currently connects Japan to 11 other destinations in Europe via Paris. From July 7, 2009, JAL will start code sharing flights operated by Air France between Paris and Istanbul. Reservations for this code share flight will begin on the same day, July 7, 2009.JAL and Air France first started code sharing in 1960 and at present, the agreement includes code share flights from Tokyo (Narita) and Osaka (Kansai) to Paris. The other existing code share flights connect Paris to Barcelona, Berlin, Copenhagen, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Lyon, Munich, Nice, Prague, Stockholm and Warsaw. With the addition of the Paris-Istanbul route, the total number of destinations in Europe served by code sharing flights between JAL and Air France, including Paris, increases to 13.

JAL continuously strives toward providing customers with utmost convenience through good flight connections and it now serves a total of 32 cities on 44 routes in Europe through code share agreements with Air France, Alitalia and JAL’s oneworld partner airlines, British Airways, Finnair, Iberia and Malev-Hungarian Airlines.
