IH/M&RS forges new partnership

The International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show® (IH/M&RS) has forged a new partnership with Pamela Lanier’s Bed and Breakfasts, Inns and Guesthouses International (BBIGI) to further enhance the attendee profile of the industry’s premier event, taking place November 7-10, 2009, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.  The marketing partnership is one of several established between the IH/M&RS and key hospitality associations representing culinary, lodging and military professionals, that foster networking and business opportunities among the 1,000 exhibitors and 35,000 attendees.Founded in 1982 by Lanier, BBIGI is one of the largest bed and breakfast innkeeper organizations internationally, with more than 8,500 members and a global database of more than 50,000 properties ranging from country inns and ranches to small resorts and villas.  The goal of the association is to extend awareness of specialty lodging throughout the world and to provide innkeepers with educational resources and marketing opportunities.  Lanier is a recognized travel expert and an active member of the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AH&LA).  Additional information is available online, at www.lanierbb.com .

“Our partnership with BBIGI is one that will add new diversity to the IH/M&RS buyer base, by welcoming a large group of operators from unique, small lodging properties seeking distinctive products that set their establishments apart from their larger counterparts,” said Lynn White, show manager.  “The members of this esteemed organization are decision-makers from across the globe, creating new business opportunities for exhibitors.”

“This partnership marks the coming of age for the bed & breakfast industry,” said Lanier.  “It’s an opportunity for our members to evaluate professional products, take advanced classes and network with hospitality industry professionals while having a wonderful and affordable time in the Big Apple.”

Additional marketing partners for 2009 include Air Force Inns, American Culinary Federation, Club Managers Association of America, Culinary Institute of America, Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals, New Jersey Restaurant Association, Pennsylvania Lodging & Tourism Association and others.
