Beauty Queens arrive in South Africa

International Beauty Queens representing Brazil and Spain arrived in South Africa to celebrate the opening of the Confederation cup.The opening ceremony took place on Sunday and featured a giant flag made up on 700 school children alongside an African showcase.

As well as the beauty queens the festivities were completed by appearances from African jazz legend Hugh Masekela, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Lebo M of “Lion King” fame, and a procession of peformers representing the entire African continent.

Miss Patricia Yurena Rodr’guez ( Miss Spain) and Miss Tamara Almeida (Miss Brazil) are also using this opportunity to promote Miss World 2009  scheduled to take place in Johannesburg this December.
