Brazilian Tourist Board launches e-learning programme

The Brazilian Tourist Board (EMBRATUR) has launched a new online training programme, which aims to help the travel trade to promote Brazil as a tourist destination.

Brazil Specialist Travel Agent Programme offers agents information all about what Brazil’s tourism has to offer.

After registering at www.braziltour.com/elearning, they have a maximum of 30 days to complete the course. Once completed, applicants will receive an internationally recognised award from the Brazilian Tourist Board, signed by the Minister of Tourism, which can be displayed in store.

Successful applicants will also be given an in-store display unit, a CD of the online training, a t-shirt and a rucksack. All agents who complete the course will furthermore be entered into a prize draw. Winners will receive places on fam trips to Brazil, allowing them to experience the country’s culture and natural beauty first hand.

The Brazilian Tourist Board hopes that by completing the course, agents will gain more confidence about selling Brazil to their clients. The focus of the training programme will be the diversity of Brazil’s tourist offering, aiming to bring to life the unique culture and natural wonders of Brazil. The training follows a period of intense investment by EMBRATUR in the UK market, which it anticipates will continue to show healthy consumer interest.

Chris Fuzinatto, Brazil Tourist Office Director for UK & Ireland, says: “We’re focussing on training for professionals working in reservations and sales at travel agencies, operators and workers in call centres in these places. We want to provide them with the most efficient strategies for selling Brazilian products, services and destinations based on our commercial expertise.”
