Drayton Manor creates 400 jobs

In the wake of declining employment across the country, Drayton Manor Theme Park in Staffordshire is bucking the trend with the creation of 400 seasonal jobs, following one of the most successful years in its history.
The attraction, near Tamworth, Staffordshire, is looking for hundreds of committed and enthusiastic people to help give visitors a fabulous day out to remember during the 2009 season, which runs from Saturday 21st March until Sunday 1st November.

Drayton Manor Theme Park’s managing director, Colin Bryan, commented: “Everyone at the park was thrilled with the success of last year’s season. We are now preparing for the busy months ahead as we anticipate many more people will stay in the UK in 2009 to enjoy their holidays.

“Working at a theme park is like no other job. My family have been running Drayton Manor for nearly 60 years and no day is ever the same. It really is a fantastic place to work and we look forward to welcoming hundreds of enthusiastic thrill seekers to our team!”

Drayton Manor is recruiting for staff in the following areas:

? Retail - assistants for gift and souvenir shops

? Ticketing staff and call centre operatives

? Ride operators - attendants and operators

? Catering - fast food chefs and food outlet assistants.

? Cleaning and Hygiene assistants

? Guest Services personnel to help look after our visitors

A Recruitment Day is being held on from 11am until 4pm on Sunday 8th February in the Park’s Tower Suite. Anyone interested in working at Drayton Manor Theme Park can come along to find out more about the positions available. Successful applicants will receive an attractive pay and benefits package, including subsidised food and discounts on a whole range of purchases. No specific experience is necessary as full training will be given.

Drayton Manor Theme Park won the Large Visitor Attraction of the Year 2008 at the Heart of England Excellence in Tourism Awards (West Midlands region). Meanwhile, Apocalypse, the world’s first stand-up tower drop, received the ‘Best European Thrill Ride’ Airtime Award from Coaster Force in August 2008.
