Six Senses to open Jordan eco-spa

The rugged beauty of Jordan is the location for Six Senses’ latest spa offering, the Evason Ma’In Hot Springs and Six Senses Spa, which opens for the first guests on Valentine’s Day, 14 February, with a grand opening in April 2009.


Sitting in a rocky ravine 264 metres below sea level, the eco resort features hot mineral spring waterfalls, and is just minutes from the Dead Sea, complete with its therapeutic benefits.Originally built in the 1980s, the main resort building has undergone a US$12m make-over to convert it to an Evason. Features include a new free-standing Six Senses Spa complex that will focus on the properties of the mineral-rich waters, offering Healing Mineral and Dead Sea therapies such as salt scrubs and mud wraps. The spa will also feature an a la carte menu of Six Senses signature treatments including the renowned Sensory Journey.

Accommodation is made up of 94 rooms and suites, plus two elegant Royal Suites and one Honeymoon Suite located on the top floor of the resort providing almost 360 degree views of the waterfall. Guest rooms feature a fresh and unconventional design utilising natural materials of the region.

Dining and refreshment outlets include a Chef’s Table, and a traditional Jordanian tray-restaurant with plump cushions upon carpeted floors. The Wine Cellar offers regular degustation dinners and tastings. A Brown Bar and a White Bar have been created, with a feature being an impressive array of local olives and olive specialties including fresh-pressed oils. Alfresco dining beside the newly installed swimming pool overlooks the hot spring waterfalls.
