Countdown to the World Travel Awards 2008 Grand Final

Excitement is mounting on the paradise island of Providenciales, Turks & Caicos ahead of tonight’s prestigious World Travel Awards 2008 Grand Final.

Senior travel industry players worldwide are congregating at Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort & Spa for the star-spangled award presentation. Disco legend Sister Sledge is headlining the entertainment.Tonight sees the culmination of the 2008 Grand Tour of regional ceremonies, which stopped at the United States, South America, Middle East, Asia, Africa, Australia and Europe. 

“This is the big one and the eyes of the world will be on Turks & Caicos to find out exactly who has claimed the travel industry’s highest accolades”, said Graham E. Cooke, president and founder of World Travel Awards.

The aim of the awards, which this year celebrates its 15th birthday, is to encourage supreme excellence, value, innovation and quality in every aspect of the customer offering.

Turks & Caicos also stands a chance of winning some of the 78 categories. Grace Bay Club could scoop the World’s Leading All-Suite Hotel and Grace Bay Beach is nominated for the World’s Leading Beach.

Celebrity husband and wife duo Jennifer Finnegan and Jonathan Silverman are presenting some of the key awards, as well as actress Lori Heuring. Maven Huffman, star of the Home Shopping Network and a former wrestler is hosting the evening.
