The Rezidor Hotel Group has opened the Radisson SAS Hotel, Durham - the company’s first hotel in the North East of England and the 12th Radisson SAS in the UK.“We are very excited to open this fantastic new hotel in the North East, which is a great addition to the Radisson SAS portfolio here in the UK. Nestled by the side of the River Wear, the new-build Radisson SAS will breathe new life into North East England’s hotel and meetings and events scene.  The multi-million pound hotel aims to establish Durham as a credible business destination in its own right, offering state-of-the-art facilities to appeal to business travellers from the North East, across the UK and beyond.

 

The hotel offers 207 guest rooms, including Business Class, suites and a Presidential Suite, many with views overlooking the river and city. The meetings and events facilities are second to none in the area, with 11 flexible meeting spaces, the largest with the capacity to cater for up to 600 conference delegates and 350 for a dinner.  Its Durham base means the hotel will offer a unique setting, positioned at the heart of the region it is the perfect meeting point for small meetings, conferences and events.

 

Durham is home to the fifth Filini Bar & Restaurant in the UK. Serving authentic Italian food in stylish surroundings, the award-winning Filini is already well-established in the Radisson SAS hotels in Birmingham, Liverpool, Belfast and at Stansted Airport. In Durham, if weather allows, guests will also have the opportunity for al-fresco dining on Filini’s outdoor terrace overlooking the river and city.

 

Other facilities include a business centre, 130 on-site car parking spaces, a 15m swimming pool and Pace - a health club with gym, sauna and treatment rooms.
