Iberostar goes adult only at Canary resort

13th Aug 2008

Iberostar Hotels & Resorts has re-opened the popular Iberostar Hotel Costa Canaria as the first Adult-Only resort in the Canary Islands, investing €2.3m on a complete renovation of the property.

Iberostar Hotel Costa Canaria is the latest Adult-Only hotel for Iberostar, which is committed to expanding its Adult-Only concept to cater for guests aged 14 and over.

The new-look hotel, which has been revamped, offers 246 rooms - most of them with furnished balcony and sea views. Rooms are fully-air conditioned with contemporary bathrooms and modern décor throughout. A guest service is now available to inform guests of all the activity and entertainment options outside and inside the hotel, as well as offering room services such as DVD’s. Wifi is available for use at a designated area in the hall.

Located on the sandy beach of San Agustin, hotel facilities include two large swimming pools and a whirlpool. Lush palm groves surround the extended sun terrace where each guest can reserve a sunbed throughout their stay.

For entertainment and dining, the new Bar Chill Out has a large terrace for sitting outside in a calm atmosphere. Guests can follow sporting broadcasts at the new Sports Bar. In addition, a new thematic restaurant is set to open in September offering an alternative to the main restaurant.

All-inclusive guests at the Costa Canaria can benefit from buffets and snacks all day. All-inclusive guests are also invited to eat in the themed restaurant twice a week.

Iberostar Hotel Costa Canaria focuses on tranquillity and relaxation; the hotel has opened the Thai Zen Space, offering traditional Asian therapies at affordable prices. The spa has two cabins (1 double, 1 individual), a selection of massage rooms and relaxation zone. A Turkish bath, Jacuzzi and sauna will be available in January 2009, together with an imperial cabin with private Jacuzzi. The authenticity of Thai Zen Space is guaranteed as all therapists hail from Thailand and hold qualifications from the Temple of Po in Bangkok.

The new gym offers cardiovascular equipment such as exercise bikes, treadmills and cross-trainers.  Guests are entitled to discounts at the local golf course, which is located 6km from the hotel. Mountain bikes and horse-riding facilities are also offered nearby.

For entertainment, there is a daily programme that includes ball games and competitions for those looking for a fun, friendly challenge. There is also live music and dancing six days a week and shows by professional artists.

Iberostar’s other adult-only resorts are: Iberostar Grand Hotel Trinidad in Cuba, Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso in Mexico, Iberostar Cavtat in Croatia, and two in Mallorca, the Ibersotar Suites Jard’n del Sol and the Iberostar Royal Cupido.
