The Westin Beijing Financial Street has been voted “China’s Leading Conference Hotel” at the inaugural World Travel Awards Asia and Indian ceremony 2008. Mr. Charlie Dang Area Managing Director, Northern China of Starwood Hotels & Resorts and General Manager of The Westin Beijing Financial Street, received the award on behalf of the hotel. Over 200 travel professionals, VIPs and media from 16 countries across the region enjoyed the much-anticipated event, with a special appearance from Miss World Zi Lin Zhang.

The World Travel Awards were conceived in 1993 to acknowledge and celebrate excellence in the world’s travel and tourism industry. Hailed by the Wall Street Journal as the “Travel Industry’s Oscars”, the World Travel Awards are one of the most comprehensive and prestigious awards program in global travel industry today. This year the voting campaign reached a total of 167,000 travel professionals from over 160 countries across the globe.
