Mantis acquires new boutique hotel

The Mantis Collection has announced its acquisition of a new boutique hotel.
The Oceana Beach & Wildlife Resort, near Port Elizabeth, South Africa, is a mix of beach and bush experience, and offers a colourful array of wildlife.

Texan owner, Rip Miller, got the idea for Oceana after spending time on other reserves in South Africa, including parks in and around Kruger National Park and Shamwari, another distinguished and much celebrated member of the Mantis Collection.

“When I took in the views of this ocean while surrounded by the bush, I imagined the most wonderful setting anyone has ever seen.  It has now become a reality for me and my family and we are thrilled to be able to open up Oceana to the world.”

Sensitive to the environment, Rip ensured that the lodge would have a minimum impact on the land.  No large trees were cut down when the lodge was built and remains an eco-friendly reserve.

With just 10 spacious private suites spread around the reserve, Oceana retains the highest levels of exclusive privacy.  Ultra-luxurious accommodation includes a select group of three unique guest suites in the Ocean Lodge and another three in the Private Ocean House as well as spectacular individual private chalets. Its location allows for activities such as scuba diving, whale watching, deep sea fishing and windsurfing to be organised by the hotel, whilst land excursions such as star gazing, sundowners, golf and guided tours are also a possibility. On-site luxuries include a full range of spa treatments and world-class 5-star dining - expect to be treated like royalty at this fabulous new reserve!
