Virgin reveals Vodka deal

Virgin Atlantic has teamed up with Akvinta vodka - a quintuple distilled super premium vodka from Croatia - as part of its UK launch this summer.  Passengers will be offered Akvinta vodka in the airline’s flagship Clubhouse at London Heathrow before their flight departs.

As of 1 June, Akvinta will be available as a pouring vodka and will also feature on the Clubhouse’s cocktail list.  Akvinta is also running a competition with the Clubhouse staff to create a unique cocktail called the ‘Stoic Virgin’.  The winning cocktail will be exclusive to Virgin Atlantic passengers and will be served from June onwards.  The airline is also looking to introduce Akvinta to its onboard ‘Retail Therapy’ magazine by the end of the year so that passengers can purchase the vodka onboard their flight.

Paul Dickinson, Director of Sales & Marketing for Virgin Atlantic commented:
“We’re pleased to be able to showcase this new Akvinta vodka in our Heathrow Clubhouse and we’re certain it will prove to be very popular with our passengers.

“Since it opened two years ago, the Clubhouse has won a host of prestigious awards and last year was listed as one of the 12 coolest places to be on Earth in Arena magazine.”

Pavel Ryabov, CEO of Adriatic Distillers, said:

“We are very proud to be working with Virgin Atlantic, this close alliance is one of the major milestones in the history of Akvinta and I believe the philosophy of the two brands is in perfect synergy as both represent great taste and a passion to deliver high standards.”

The Clubhouse provides the ultimate pre-flight experience for every passenger with an array of exciting and unique areas.  Passengers can enjoy a stylish haircut in the salon from Bumble and bumble; relax in the spa pool or sauna; choose from a range of Cowshed treatments; enjoy a game of pool in the Den; a blockbuster film in the Cinema; enjoy a delicious cocktail at the 14 metre long bar; and choose from the extensive Brasserie menu for a richer dining experience before their flight.
