Victoria Cruises offers China aid

Victoria Cruises which sails China’s Yangtze River, is assisting humanitarian relief efforts following the earthquake in Wenchaun, China by donating excess inventory and supplies, including much-needed clothing, towels and drinking water. The company released the following statement:

After our passengers and crew, which were all at a safe distance from the quake’s center, our primary concern is for the surrounding countryside and the well-being of those who were adversely affected by the tragic disaster.” said Jerry Pi, Operating Partner for Victoria Cruises. “We encourage others to get involved by donating to the American Red Cross International Response Fund and help the victims during their time of need,” added Pi.

“Victoria Cruises is operating normally and on schedule,” said Larry Greenman, manager of public relations and customer service for the cruise line. “While the earthquake was felt on land, and there was some sway felt along the river, our passengers are safe and the river is now calm. There has been no damage to our fleet.”
