easyJet responds to Stansted comment

29th Apr 2008

In responding to the Civil Aviation Authority’s announcement that prices could double at Stansted over the coming five years, Andy Harrison, easyJet Chief Executive has released a statement. It reads: “It is abundantly clear from all the evidence that Stansted Airport enjoys substantial monopoly power and should be regulated accordingly. The Competition Commission has recently presented evidence of how BAA has been abusing its market power and failing to respond to needs of customers, so it is hard to understand why the CAA are failing to act. Stansted needs to be regulated more effectively not let off the leash to exploit the airlines and our passengers.”
