National expands ME network

National Car Rental continues to expand its Middle East network with the opening of its newest office in Oman, in co-operation with Omani partner, the Shanfari Group. The new territory will be open for business starting February 2008 with 2 locations in Muscat and 1 location in Sohar. The Omani fleet will start off with 40 vehicles, expanding to 130 vehicles by the end of its first year of operation and will feature a variety of makes and models. National Car Rental Oman will have both short-term self-drive and leasing facilities.

“We are delighted to be associated with such a well established group in Oman and their experience in both the auto and travel industries will be invaluable as support for the new franchise,” comments Neil Summerville, EMEA Director of Franchising, National Car Rental.

The Shanfari Group has an extensive portfolio of businesses in Oman and is the importer for Jeep, SAAB Cars, as well as Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Aston Martin and Lamborghini. Their portfolio of businesses extends to travel, construction, and oil services.
