In 2008, Kempinski Hotel Ajman is celebrating ten distinctive years as the region’s favourite resort getaway. The original Kempinski property in the Middle East and the first luxury hotel in Ajman, the hotel has welcomed guests from all over the globe and remains a firm favourite with leisure travellers to the region. To mark the occasion, the resort has planned a continuous roll-out of special promotions and giveaways throughout the year, culminating in October.

“Kempinski Hotel Ajman was launched at a time when the tourism industry in the United Arab Emirates was still in its infancy. Ajman offered the ideal location for a secluded resort destination, steeped in local culture and history.  This quiet hamlet possessed a natural charm owing to its tranquil environment and more importantly its fantastic coastline,” recalled Ulrich Eckhardt, Managing Director of Kempinski Hotel Ajman.

Few would ever question the wisdom of Kempinski’s bold initiative at that time, which lead the hotel in becoming a stand-alone resort destination in the area, a popular tourist magnate for Ajman in particular, and the United Arab Emirates in general.

Only minutes away from Dubai, nestled on a secluded stretch of coastline at the end of the Ajman Corniche, the 183-room resort boasts probably the most spectacular private beach in the country.  This natural beauty paired with the elegant surroundings and facilities of the hotel itself, have ensured the resorts continued success in the now highly competitive hospitality industry. As a lush haven of leisure and recreation, the resort has long been a popular choice for weekend breaks and family holidays.  A bevy of water-sports activities, an outdoor temperature-controlled pool, beautiful beach, bowling alley and two spa’s - the holistic Softouch Ayurveda Spa and pampering Laguna Spa - have kept guests entertained and relaxed.

Currently half-way through a major renovation program, the hotel recently upgraded all guest rooms, suites and corridors to a heightened level of refreshing modern luxury.  Moving forward into 2008, this refurbishment will be extended to renew both the grand lobby and also a complete facelift and expansion for the Laguna Spa, during the traditionally quieter summer months.
