Smith Travel Research acquires RRC

Smith Travel Research and RRC Associates have announced that they are joining forces, effective immediately.  Randy Smith, CEO of STR, noted the acquisition of RRC by STR substantially extends the range of professional and strategic services it can offer under the STR umbrella and the synergistic nature of the two firms. “We are very excited about the incredible opportunities to assist our existing lodging and ski resort clients who previously were unable to access the breadth of data, information and knowledge from a single source” said Randy Smith.

Nolan Rosall and Chris Cares, Founding Partners of RRC Associates, echoed similar thoughts, indicating that the vast data resources available through STR adds great value to RRC’s client base.  “The combination of our respective information and expertise will allow RRC to better serve our clients and adds perspective and understanding of the competitive environments within which they operate.”

Mark Lomanno, President of STR, further indicated that the firms are increasingly part of a truly international community and that STR has dramatically improved its abilities to offer relevant and timely information on a global basis, unmatched by anyone else in the industry.

Both companies will continue to operate under their unique corporate identities, out of their respective locations, and continue to provide established professional and data services. It is anticipated that RRC will gradually increase its staffing within the Boulder office as a result of this acquisition.  Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
