Iberia.com site posts rise in US

For another year, Iberia.com was Spain’s busiest commercial web site, registering a 12% increase in online sales of air tickets, for a total 2007 volume of 500 million euros, while it also posted a daily average of 325,000 visits and 1.3 million page hits. The biggest increases were recorded on Iberia’s international market- specific web pages, which together showed a 31% growth in online sales, led by the U.S. site which saw sales rise by a whopping 80%-plus for the year.

The Iberia.com site is the preferred communications channel for members of the Iberia Plus frequent flyer program. Today Iberia customers may sign up for the program online, and also view and manage their points. More than half of the more than three million members of the program manage their accounts using the Iberia Plus Online option.

Customers can also use the site to choose and obtain other goods and services, which, depending on the country, may include car rentals, hotel reservations, holiday packages, travel insurance, and more.

More and better features

Iberia has added a number of new features and improvements to its Spanish web site, and is gradually adding them to its market-specific sites in several languages.

The main page now features Iberia’s constantly updated listing of special flight offers, along with the best prices found by other customers in the past three months. In addition, the flight selection process has been enriched with new features.

A new page for members of the Iberia Plus frequent flyer program provides direct access to all the companies participating in the program, and gives members more options for viewing their account data.

There are new versions of the Iberia.com web site especially adapted for access via PDAs and cell phones, so you no longer need a PC to view timetables, fares, and other information.

Meanwhile, a “Reservations Management” option makes it easy to verify flight reservations, and even to change them, when they are for domestic flights and were obtained online. It is also possible to enter passenger information as required by the authorities of certain countries.
