Northwest Airlines has successfully completed the
renewal audit of the International Air Transport Association
Operational Safety Audit and has been entered into the IOSA
Registry.IOSA is an internationally recognized evaluation system and
the industry benchmark for airline global safety management.

The IOSA audit is designed to improve airline operational safety
capability around the world and includes all eight major aspects of a
carrier’s activities that drive a safe operation, including: aircraft
engineering and maintenance, flight operations, operational control
and flight dispatch, cabin operations, aircraft ground handling, cargo
operations, operational security and corporate organization. These
eight aspects comprise more than 900 individual standards and
recommended practices that an airline is audited against.
IOSA standards are based on International Civil Aviation
Organization (ICAO) standards and industry best practices.
