AirTran enjoys record year

AirTran Airways has reported setting
new December, fourth-quarter and annual records in 2007 for traffic,
capacity, load factor and total passengers.“This was a record-setting period for AirTran Airways across a broad
variety of key measures,” said Bob Fornaro, AirTran Airways’ president and
chief executive officer. “Beyond the numbers, however, I’m particularly
gratified that our Crew Members continued to provide outstanding service to
a growing number of passengers throughout our expanding network. Their
performance truly shines.”

  For December, AirTran Airways traffic increased 16.6 percent on a 13.1
percent rise in capacity, and load factor climbed 2.3 percentage points to
72.7 percent. The number of enplaned passengers jumped 10.3 percent to 1.9
million.

  For the fourth quarter, traffic increased 25.5 percent on a 15.1
percent increase in capacity, and load factor climbed 6.3 percentage points
to 75.3 percent. The number of enplaned passengers jumped 18.3 percent to
5.9 million.

  For 2007, traffic increased 25 percent on a 19.4 percent rise in
capacity, and load factor climbed 3.4 percentage points to 76.2 percent.
The number of enplaned passengers jumped 18.6 percent to 23.8 million.
