Super 8 China has exceeded its 2007 development projection of 120 properties either open or under construction by year end—the third consecutive year the company has exceeded its development goals—due to continued strong growth in domestic demand for branded economy lodging in China. Super 8 China now has 124 properties either open or under construction in more than sixty cities across China, of which 65 properties are open and operating.

Super 8 of the USA, with almost 2,100 properties worldwide, is one of the world’s largest economy lodging operators.

Mitchell A. Presnick, Super 8 China chairman, said he is “pleased” with his company’s development progress in 2007 and thanked business partners, employees, industry and government for helping the company achieve three straight years of exceeded development targets.

Referring to Super 8’s nine new openings in December, Mr. Presnick said, “In addition to exceeding our development targets again this year, I am pleased to note this is the first time that Super 8 China has opened more than eight properties in China in one month.”

Super 8 China opened thirteen properties in November and December 2007. The new Super 8 properties are located in Lanzhou, Beijing, Tianjin, Shenzhen, Changshu, Changchun, Baotou, Kunming, Hangzhou, Baotou and Hangzhou. These new Super 8 properties will provide “Clean & Friendly” service, which is the hallmark of Super 8 Hotels worldwide.
