Sol Melia rolls out Web 2.0 site

Sol Melia has created a new promotion named ESCAPE which allows users to view and visit the locations of its 400 hotels using Google satellite technology on Google Maps and Google Earth. At the hotel chain is inviting net users to escape the routine and join a virtual journey to any of the hotels run under the Melia, Tryp, Sol, Paradisus and ME brands in destinations such as the Caribbean, Bali, Paris, Madrid, London, Sao Paulo.

With the chance of winning a hotel stay and flight to any of the destinations in which the Majorcan hotel company operates around the world, the promotion has been a resounding success. Only one week after its launch more than 100,000 people have already taken part in the interactive game.

The interactive game is the first step in the Sol Melia online strategy to add new services of the now famous web 2.0 to the hotel portal over the coming months.
