US Airways steps in to assist MAXjet fliers

US Airways says it will accept tickets for standby travel from passengers who were scheduled to fly on MAXjet Airways flights between Los Angles, Las Vegas, New York City and London. MAXjet customers will be able to travel on a standby basis for a $100 non-refundable, one-way fare (minimum two segments per itinerary) plus any applicable taxes and fees on US Airways flights to/from London’s Gatwick Airport originating or terminating at the following airports: Los Angeles International, Las Vegas McCarran International, Newark Liberty International, John F. Kennedy International and New York’s LaGuardia Airport. All flights will connect through US Airways’ hubs in Charlotte, N.C. or Philadelphia. Travel must be completed by Jan. 6, 2008.

Standby tickets may be purchased at airport ticket counters. Reservations and ticket counter booking fees do not apply for this special fare.

At time of check-in customers must show proof of purchase on MAXjet to take advantage of the special offer. Proof may include an e-ticket confirmation letter, an e-ticket receipt, an e-ticket itinerary card or paper tickets printed by MAXjet. US Airways agents will not be able to accept photocopies.
