Amadeus will be using the Business Travel Show 2008 as a platform to launch several new solutions signifying its ‘technology partner’ status and ‘tailored solutions for travel professionals all under one roof’ as the company enters it’s 21st year in business.
Since the 2007 Business Travel Show, Amadeus has invested almost 200 million Euros in technology Research & Development. UK & Ireland MD, Stephane Durand, alongside a recently reinforced sales and marketing team, will be on hand to demonstrate and explain where and how this investment is benefiting UK travel professionals and corporate travellers. Here are some of the highlights Amadeus will be unveiling at the show:
Amadeus Selling Platform - the 2008 version is designed to further increase automation and enhance agency workflow. Recent enhancements have been designed to increase the sales of ancillary services, which are important for increasing revenues and customer satisfaction. New additions to the graphical interface also help agents perform complex or infrequent tasks with minimal time and effort. Graphical input and output is combined with a cryptic interface for experienced travel consultants, together with the facility to toggle between the two modes at any time for maximum efficiency.
Amadeus Quality Control - a powerful business tool that helps travel professionals streamline their reservations processes. Use of this tool in conjunction with the Amadeus Selling Platform helps reduce errors and standardises best practice according to customers’ business rules - thereby helping agents provide a first class customer experience from booking to post-sales admin.
Eurostar / UK rail update - the team will be providing an update on Amadeus rail solutions, which includes both Eurostar in the airline display and the new UK rail booking solution. Eurostar in the airline display will be demonstrated at the show, together with detailed screen mock ups of the new Amadeus UK rail solution that is fully integrated with the Amadeus Selling Platform. The UK Rail (domestic) solution is scheduled for pilot testing in Q1 2008.
Purple Parking - an integrated Purple Parking booking can be made in the Amadeus Selling Platform in three simple steps. The Purple Parking solution automatically pre-populates the input fields based on traveller and itinerary details in the Amadeus PNR. The data also feeds mid and back-office systems. Purple Parking within the Amadeus Selling Platform demonstrates how integrated 3rd party applications offer optimal efficiency.
Amadeus e-Travel Management - see the latest version of our award-winning corporate travel solution that demonstrates Amadeus’ vision to provide a simpler and more flexible ‘Total Trip Experience’ for business travellers. Amadeus Single View is a new feature that revolutionises the way in which travellers search and select the most suitable travel options - using many ‘shopping’ features more usually associated with internet-based leisure travel sites.

Amadeus Holiday Hotels - discover the first hotel meta-search engine for travel agents providing seamless access to bed banks through the Amadeus Selling Platform. This new solution uses proven TravelTainment technology for cached availability and rates.
Activities & Entertainment - offers instant access to airport transfers, theatre tickets, tours and additional ground content at over 400 destinations. The technology is smart enough to only include destination information relevant to the itinerary booked, which helps travel professionals offer a door-to-door service for clients.
Amadeus Cruise - the benchmark for travel agency cruise bookings in the UK, now boasts its first niche cruise operator, Hurtigruten (formerly Norwegian Coastal Voyage). The total number of cruise lines available is currently 16. Additionally, Amadeus e-Cruise has been designed for travel agents looking to offer consumers a great online cruise shopping experience. Potential customers can do the legwork of finding the cruise that appeals to them and then contacting their cruise agency to confirm the details or book online.
Amadeus Cars Easy Shopper - a new way to sell pre-paid leisure rates, with user-friendly features such as graphical car capacity functionality to take the guesswork out of holiday car hire.
