MGM Grand Macau implements Agilysys system

MGM Grand Macau in Macau, China has selected the Materials Management System (MMS) inventory and procurement solution from Agilysys to streamline operations, increase efficiency and reduce costs at the new 600-room luxury property, which is scheduled to open in December 2007.

Recognized as the hospitality industry’s leading inventory and procurement system, the MMS solution automates the entire procurement process—from food and beverage to general property materials - and provides a fast and measurable return on investment by reducing labor costs and waste and eliminating time-consuming and error-prone paper documents. With MMS, tasks that once took hours or days can be completed with the click of a mouse, enabling buyers to focus on the strategic elements of the purchasing process. The scaleable software system includes modules for bar coding, inventory, menu & recipe analysis, nutritional analysis, purchasing and retail.

“In a highly competitive market like Macau, hotels that want to gain a competitive advantage need technology that allows them to work smarter and more efficiently,” said Tina Stehle, senior vice president and general manager, Agilysys Hospitality Solutions. “The Materials Management System streamlines the entire inventory and procurement operation and enables buyers to make more intelligent purchasing decisions. Hotels that use the system can expect to conserve resources and increase profitability, both immediately and in the long run.”
