Sands at Grace Bay gets $6mn facelift

The Sands at Grace Bay has re-opened following a $6 million facelift that includes a gracious new open-air lobby “The Sands has always been a unique property,” said Darren Law, Vice President of Operations and Asset Management for The Hartling Group, owners of The Sands, “which is why we have chosen as our new tagline: Unspoiled * Uncommon * Unpretentious.  We believe that it’s the little things that set The Sands apart from other resorts on Provo. As one of the original resorts on the island, The Sands offers unique amenities such as low-rise buildings with screened patios that offer breathtaking views of world-famous Grace Bay Beach, permanent beach Palapas that provide year-round shade for careful sunbathers, and a popular beachfront restaurant that serves island specialties on a deck that literally sits on the sand.”

“With the completion of our renovation, The Sands is now the finest four-star resort on the island,” added General Manager Pierre Beswick. “In addition to our elegant new look, we believe that service sets us apart at The Sands. We specialize in welcoming guests with a familiar embrace and the special touches that turn a vacation into a celebration. Whether it’s a wedding or anniversary, a new family addition, or simply a family get-together or reunion, our staff prides itself on making each moment memorable.”

The Sands at Grace Bay is an all-suite resort located on six oceanfront acres on Grace Bay beach, one of the best known and most popular beaches in the Caribbean.  With 114 suites ranging from studios with kitchenettes all the way to the one, two and three-bedroom suites ranging from 1,000 to 1,600 square feet featuring full kitchens with granite counter tops.  The resort exudes an elegant yet laid back sophistication and is comprised of six three-story buildings situated amid a lush garden courtyard caressed by three free-form swimming pools.  Guests can lounge at one of numerous sunbathing areas or under the Palapas on the beach.  The more adventurous can enjoy complimentary bicycles and water sports equipment such as Hobie Cats, windsurfers, sea kayaks and snorkel gear.  Guests will love stepping off the beach right into Hemingway’s Restaurant and Bar, a legendary local favorite that is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  For those interested in even more pampering, the resort Spa treatments are available at the Spa Tropique by appointment only.  Guests are also welcome to enjoy the resort’s indoor fitness center and tennis courts.  Conveniently located within ten minutes, the Provo Golf Club offers guests one of the best and most challenging courses in the Caribbean.
