New appointment for Amadeus

4th Dec 2007

Amadeus is appointing Richard Kelly as the new Business Development Manager for Amadeus UK and Ireland. Responsible for managing and developing 3rd party relationships with software providers that will complement the Amadeus product offering, Kelly will have a particular impact on Amadeus’ TMC portfolio, where there is increasing demand for fully integrated technology incorporating front-to-back office systems, plus a range of other 3rd party solutions.

Stephane Durand, Managing Director for Amadeus UK & Ireland, says of Kelly’s appointment: “We are delighted to welcome Richard into his new role during what is proving to be an exciting time for Amadeus. We work in an industry which, like Amadeus itself, is evolving at a staggering rate. Richard’s role will be to identify opportunities for Amadeus to partner with local 3rd party software providers that complement and enhance our own solutions to further meet the needs of our customers. We have every confidence that Richard’s contribution and his wealth of experience in the technology sector will be invaluable as Amadeus continues to diversify its portfolio of technology solutions for the travel industry.”

Amadeus API and its local Developer Assistance Programme (DAP) are already firm favourites with the UK & Ireland’s innovative travel industry software developers. Amadeus API enables certified 3rd party developers to access the Amadeus Central System with its 768 airline schedules, 248 hotel chains representing some 75,000 properties, 22 car rental providers, 16 cruise lines, and much more.

Richard Kelly commented: “Where travel companies are seriously considering migrating to Amadeus for efficiency gains, they are increasingly looking at how the Amadeus offering integrates with all their in-house applications. I was attracted to Amadeus because of its tremendous growth over recent years and I am excited about my new role at a company where the approach is to continuously develop products and partnership with like-minded 3rd party technology specialists.”

Prior to joining Amadeus, Richard worked as Business Development Manager for Cornerstone Information Systems, where he helped significantly build a customer base through new sales - both in the UK and internationally. During his career, Richard has also worked for Multiple Communications Limited as a Business Consultant and Galileo UK as Head of Technical Sales UK.
