Great Wolf ready to start Texas expansion

Great Wolf Resorts has announced it will begin an expansion this month on its Great Wolf Lodge resort located in Grapevine, Texas.Phase two will add 203 suites and nearly quadruple the size of the existing conference space. The expansion is expected to be complete in December 2008 and will make Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine the company’s largest resort with 605 suites.

Once complete, Great Wolf Lodge will offer 27,000 square feet of meeting space ideal for the business and social needs of the community for groups of 10 - 750. The final conference center space is expected to feature a 7,500 square-foot Grand Ballroom; 6 breakout and meeting rooms; two board rooms; over 4,000 square feet of pre-function space, plus six outdoor event areas; a dedicated banquet team on-site to cater to requests; audio and visual systems; and complimentary high-speed wireless Internet access. In conjunction with the additional meeting space, the resort’s expansion will include new King Business Suites that will accommodate up to four people and will consist of a king bed, desk and semi-private living area with a sofa sleeper. Upgraded business amenities will include luxury bedding and towels, and a 32-inch plasma screen TV.

Scheduled to open this December to serve as Texas’ Premier Indoor Waterpark Resort, Great Wolf Lodge will provide a comprehensive package of family entertainment and lodging amenities including: 402 all-suite guest rooms; a 98,000-square-foot indoor entertainment area which will feature Bear Track Landing, Texas’ largest indoor waterpark; two themed family restaurants, Camp Critter Bar & Grille and The Loose Moose Cottage; Bear Claw Café; Pizza Hut Express; a Starbucks Coffee Shop; Elements Spa featuring Aveda products; Scooops Kid Spa; Cub Club, a children’s craft and activity room with a focus on “edutainment;” MagiQuest, a live action fantasy adventure game, as well as Questmaster Suites; a tech center with Internet stations and movie and musical entertainment; Northern Lights Arcade with ticket redemption; Iron Horse Fitness Center; an animated Great Clock Tower; Buckhorn Exchange? gift emporium; Raccoon Lagoon? outdoor waterpark; nearly 10,000 square feet of meeting space and more!
