Days Inn unveils new logo

Featuring a friendly modern typeface and bright yellows contrasting with a deep blue, the first new Days Inn logo in 37 years has been unveiled.

The logo’s debut is part of the brand’s two-year revitalisation plan that includes the introduction of a new customer service promise; the DayBreak® eat-in or takeaway breakfast programme featuring a variety of items including coffee, tea, pastries and cereals; and wired and wireless high-speed Internet service in guest rooms and public spaces.

The new customer service promise declares the brand’s service pledge to guests.  In support of the promise, an employee training programme and customer service standards focused on guest interaction will be implemented early next year.

“A November 2006 BDRC Hotel Guest Survey and an informal poll conducted among Days Inn guests indicate that travellers want helpful, friendly service,” said Belinda Atkins, Days Inn senior brand director.  “It is important that Days Inn owners and employees strive to provide exceptional service because it’s the one thing we can do to truly outshine the competition.”

Atkins said the new Days Inn logo is indicative of the brand’s ongoing improvement programme.  “Putting up a fresh, new sign on the outside of Days Inn hotels will stimulate curiosity among guests about what’s new on the inside,” she said, adding that the new design seeks to convey a warm welcome and up-to-date look while retaining the original yellow sunburst and shape.


“We kept what was good and powerful in our logo - the unique and familiar shape and the warm yellow sun - but freshened up the look,” she said.  “By preserving the shape of the logo, we are able to keep signage replacement costs at a minimum since there is no need for franchisees to replace the physical signage container if it is still in good condition.”

The new logo was introduced in the United States earlier this year.

The Days Inn system extends beyond the United States and Canada to Mexico, Ireland, Italy, United Kingdom, Argentina, Uruguay, Egypt, Jordan, South Africa, China, India, Jordan, the Philippines and Guam.  All Days Inn hotels are independently owned and operated under franchise agreements with Days Inns Worldwide, a subsidiary of Wyndham Worldwide Corporation (NYSE: WYN).
