Fleishman-Hillard wins Florida contract

Visit St. Petersburg/Clearwater has appointed Fleishman-Hillard’s dedicated Travel & Tourism Division to drive PR activity in UK & Ireland for the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Area. The team has been briefed to implement a comprehensive trade and consumer media relations campaign supported by a visiting journalist programme throughout the UK & Ireland markets.

Visit St. Petersburg/Clearwater is the official destination marketing organisation of Pinellas County in Florida and covers 26 municipalities in the area. The region is located on a beautiful peninsula on Florida’s West coast, bordered by the Gulf of Mexico to the west and by Tampa Bay to the east. It boasts award-winning beaches throughout and is looking to establish itself as a leading holiday destination for travellers from the UK & Ireland.

FH Travel & Tourism will be putting together an integrated and strategic communications programme in order to achieve Visit St. Petersburg/Clearwater’s goals, starting with the team’s support at the largest UK travel event, World Travel Market, in November. In addition to the key messages surrounding the region’s award winning beaches, the backbone of the strategy will be communicating the “beyond the beaches” message to highlight that the region offers a wealth of activities and experiences beyond the “fly and flop” holiday. These include vibrant cities, charming small towns and a lively arts and culture scene - including the world’s largest collection of Salvador Dali’s works - as well as myriad watersports, more than 50 golf courses, abundant fresh seafood and a full calendar of events
