Christine Henney, Director of Human Resources and Training at Rocco Forte’s The Lowry Hotel, has won the Harvey’s Heroes Award 2007 in recognition of her hard work and dedication to the charity Hospitality Action.Christine has been heavily involved with the charity for over four years and during this time her dedication has known no bounds.  She recently organised the “It’s a Knockout” event at Heaton Park in Manchester with the North West Hospitality Action Board, managing a team of people who ultimately raised £15,000 for the charity, which recently celebrated its 170th anniversary.

The Chief Executive of Hospitality Action, Penny Moore, presented the award to Christine. Penny said, “This is an absolutely deserved award, Christine has worked so hard to achieve success for Hospitality Action and it is fantastic that this has been recognised.  We are so grateful to her for everything that she has done for the charity and look forward to working with her in the future.

“Hospitality Action is the benevolent organisation for Hospitality People, to support both those who need our service and the volunteers who make it possible.”

Christine commented; “I am immensely proud of achieving my award, as I am so passionate about the causes we support and believe that our charity aides our colleagues, both young and old, who themselves may have fallen on hard times and whose loyalty and dedication has made our industry one of the most successful and rewarding in the world.”
