bmi launches daily service to Cairo

bmi is launching a new daily non-stop service from Cairo to London beginning on November 4th, 2007 whereby the airline will be offering its top-notch services to Egyptian travelers including its diamond club initiative. ‘We are enthusiastic about starting our operations in Egypt and we look forward to building many partnerships along the way. bmi has already started by reaching an agreement with Egyptair allowing our valued customers the opportunity to use their frequent flyer cards on either airline,’ explained Nigel Turner, CEO of bmi. ‘Commitment and quality are at the heart of bmi’s core values and we are keen to implement them in this new exciting market.’

Available to all bmi’s passengers, diamond club includes four membership levels - blue, blue plus, silver and gold - each of which introduces different benefits. Cardholders are able to accumulate miles, make use of the elite lounge, receive the exclusive online magazine and an online account, receive complimentary food and drink onboard and priority seating towards the front of the aircraft. Frequent flyers can then spend their earned miles on flights worldwide, hotel accommodation, car rental, gifts and more special offers.

‘We anticipate diamond club will be as successful in Egypt as it has been in the UK and we’re delighted to offer such unique services to the Egyptian market,’ stated Turner. ‘At bmi, our main objective is to offer premium service to both business and leisure travelers alike; diamond club is just one way we’re achieving that goal.’

bmi began its operations in 1938 and expanded to include passenger and cargo charter services throughout the 50s and 60s. Today, bmi is one of the UK’s largest scheduled airlines with 36 destinations from Heathrow.
