Caribbean Airlines bags Trinidad air bridge

Caribbean Airlines assumed control of the air bridge between Trinidad & Tobago from Tobago Express.Agents in the UK are able to book passengers on Caribbean Airlines flights across the twenty mile stretch of water - something previously managed by third party ground handlers or by visitors upon arrival. The regular inter-island service will now be managed by Caribbean Airlines - retaining its current schedule of 19 flights per day and fleet of aircraft from the previous operator. This development will make booking dual destination holidays and inter-island hops easier for both agents and holidaymakers who now do not have to wait until arrival at the destination to make ongoing plans. Nova Alexander, Manager (UK, Ireland, Holland & Scandinavia), Tourism Development Company (TDC) of Trinidad & Tobago said: “We are delighted that agents can provide a full and seamless service to their clients - booking the entire visit from start to finish. Guests will also note the improved ease of bookings and travel - another way the islands of Trinidad & Tobago hope to reduce the stress often encountered by today’s travellers.” Caribbean Airlines management of the air bridge will directly benefit international agents who now have the global distribution system at their fingertips, allowing instant access to the route seat availability and direct booking services. With the new booking system Trinidad & Tobago will be able to transfer visitors between the islands more easily. It will also offer more inter-Caribbean transfers.
