KLM connects with Northwest for Dallas service

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines,
in cooperation with its joint venture partner Northwest Airlines,
has announced that it will begin daily nonstop service between
Dallas-Fort Worth and Amsterdam, the Netherlands, beginning March 2008.
In addition to providing the only nonstop service connecting
Dallas-Fort Worth area travelers with one of Europe’s most popular
business and leisure destinations, the new route will provide
convenient connections through KLM’s hub at Amsterdam’s award-winning
Schiphol Airport to more than 75 destinations throughout Europe,
Africa, the Middle East and India.

  “The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is an important part of the
growing global economy,” said Peter Hartman, president and CEO of KLM
Royal Dutch Airlines. “We believe that our comfortable service and
convenient connections will allow area business and leisure travelers
to easily connect to cities throughout Europe and the world. We also
look forward to providing travelers throughout Europe, Africa, the
Middle East and India with comfortable and convenient service to the
Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.”

  KLM flight 670 (NWA flight 8670) will depart Dallas-Fort Worth in
the late afternoon and arrive at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport early
the following morning. The return, flight KL669 (NW8669) will depart
from Schiphol Airport in the morning and arrive early in the afternoon
in Dallas-Fort Worth.

  KLM will operate the route with Airbus A330-200 aircraft, offering
30 World Business Class seats and 221 Economy Class seats.

  KLM’s A330s are equipped with the carrier’s World Business Class
sleeper seats and an on-demand interactive entertainment system in
both cabins offering video and audio selections, video games and
individual telephones. The system also allows customers to send and
receive text messages to any mobile phone or e-mail address anywhere
in the world. Shortly before arrival, the system provides customers
with up-to-the-minute connecting flight transfer information.

  In addition to the interactive entertainment system, World
Business Class travelers enjoy an array of features including sleeper
seats with a 170-degree recline, privacy canopy, laptop power port,
cycling lumbar support and adjustable headrest.

  Dallas-Fort Worth will be the 19th North American destination
served by the combined KLM-Northwest Airlines joint venture via
Schiphol Airport. KLM and Northwest offer convenient daily nonstop
service between Amsterdam and Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas/Fort
Worth, Detroit, Hartford, Conn., Houston (Intercontinental), Los
Angeles, Memphis, Tenn., Mexico City, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Montreal,
New York (JFK), Newark, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, Vancouver,
British Columbia, and Washington, D.C.
