Cayman Airways opens UK office

Cayman Airways is opening a UK office to serve the UK and Europe with the appointment of Lynne Morris of LCM Communications as Regional Manager Europe. The airline’s strategy is to increase its presence in the UK and Europe through close co-operation with European airline partners and the travel trade, as well as raising its consumer profile.

Comments VP Commercial for Cayman Airways, John Wrightington: “We are delighted to have Lynne Morris on board.  Her experience and expertise in Caribbean tourism and aviation for these markets will enable us to fast-track our development for Cayman Airways in the UK and Europe, providing a launch pad for increased tourism and business travel to the islands.”

Morris will be working closely with the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism in the UK to promote new initiatives as they are launched and to develop tourism and business travel to the destination.

Cayman Airways currently has daily services from Miami to Grand Cayman, connecting with UK and European carriers, as well as connecting flights from Grand Cayman over Havana with Virgin Atlantic.

Cayman Airways launched its New York service to Grand Cayman on 23rd June 2007 with three flights per week.

As the national flag carrier of the Cayman Islands, Cayman Airways operates non-stop Boeing 737 jet service between Chicago, New York, Tampa, Miami to/from Grand Cayman, and jet service to Cayman Brac, Kingston and Montego Bay, Jamaica and Havana, Cuba. Cayman Airways has also reintroduced daily turbo-prop service via Cayman Airways Express between the three Cayman Islands, Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. Cayman Airways has been serving the Cayman Islands as the national flag carrier since 1968 and currently operates 3 Boeing 737-200’s, 2 Boeing 737-300 jets, and 2 Twin Otter aircraft from its base in Grand Cayman.
