iloho launches onsite competition

From Monday 24 September iloho, the online community for travellers, is launching an on-site competition to find the most inspiring images of the world’s landmarks. So protract your zoom, set your shutter speed and adjust that focus, because to celebrate the launch of Landmarks, iloho’s interactive image gallery, there are a plethora of prizes up for grabs.

There is no cap on the number of images competition entrants can upload and no parameters on inspiration; any landmark, natural or constructed, from any corner of the globe that generates an interesting photograph is eligible. The first one hundred users to submit ten pictures or more will automatically receive a 1GB USB stick or a travel sized iPod/MP3 speaker, perfect for photographers on their travels.

Every piece of content that a traveller contributes to iloho will add points to their user profile. As a user’s profile builds, through posting interesting travel articles, reviews and photographs, they will have unique chances to win further prizes and increase their exposure on the site.

Iloho’s Landmarks function makes travel planning more inspiring by offering users a visual feast of destination information. Members can upload and share their own travel pictures and browse, comment on and vote for others’. Landmarks uses interactive Google maps to geo-locate user-generated images of over 200 iconic sites; in just a few clicks users can explore destinations as diverse as Tikal in Guatemala, Kuala Lumpur’s Petronas Towers and the Parthenon in Greece.

To enter, travel-loving photographers must visit www.iloho.com/landmarks and upload their chosen landmarks pictures. If entrants are not already iloho members then a quick and simple registration process will also be required. The competition will run for three weeks until 14 October 2007 or while supplies last.
