Sharp expands HDTV hotel range

Sharp is expanding its line of high-definition (HD) AQUOS LCD TVs with the new HT3 models, in 32-, 37- and 42-inch screen sizes.Designed specifically for the hospitality industry, the widescreen, high-definition televisions combine Sharp’s proprietary Advanced Super View LCD panel, which provides an incredibly sharp Dynamic Contrast Ratio of 6000:1, with built-in LodgeNet and On Command, as well as nStreams, NXTV and SeaChange pay-per-view interfaces, ensuring that almost any hotel can bring the stunning picture of AQUOS LCD TVs to their guests. The HT3 models are integrated with the Pro:Idiom? system for high-definition content, a DRM system developed specifically for the hospitality industry.

“With a superior picture and stellar performance, this new HT3 HDTV series is meant to provide the ultimate in-room entertainment experience for hotel guests,” said Sean McBride, product marketing manager, Display, Sharp Electronics Corporation. “Sharp’s AQUOS LCD TVs incorporate the latest screen technologies with pay-per-view interface capabilities, and are the perfect blend of form and function to enhance any guest’s stay, helping them to feel more at home while on the road.”

Sharp created the HT3 AQUOS models specifically for enhanced hotel room entertainment. The stylish, chic, piano black finish fits into any room’s décor, and the sets feature thin profile bottom-placed speakers and a removable table stand that allows for wall placement or fitting into existing hotel case goods. The HT3 series takes LCD TV performance to the next level with an enhanced version of Sharp’s proprietary Advanced Super View (ASV) panel, which enables an incredible 6000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio and an amazing pixel response time of 6 ms, for stellar picture quality especially on fast-moving action scenes. With a viewing angle of 176 degrees, colors appear bright and vivid from virtually anywhere in the room.

The TV’s extremely high contrast ratio results in blacker blacks, and the high brightness provides exceptional color clarity, for superior program viewing of all types. The ASV panel with Black TFT low-reflection coating dramatically reduces glare, so the units can be placed anywhere - even near windows, doors or other light sources, without sacrificing picture quality.

To help reduce the risk of HD copyright infringement, the HT3 series is integrated with Pro:Idiom, the first digital rights management (DRM) system developed specifically for the lodging industry. The LC-32HT3, LC-37HT3 and LC-42HT3 AQUOS LCD TVs will be available in September.
